Pedro de Mena (Granada, 1628 - Malaga, 1688) is one of the great personalities of the baroque sculpture of the Golden Age. In 1658, he moved to Malaga where he received the commission for his masterpiece, the choir stalls of the Cathedral. Once his fame spread, he built his house-workshop in Calle de Afligidos, where he lived, worked and died in 1688.
Among his disciples, his daughters Andrea and Claudia, whose father taught them to draw and model, stand out above all. In 1672, they professed as nuns in the Cistercian convent, where they continued their sculptural work.
This route follows the architectural landmarks that bear witness to the personal and artistic development of this remarkable family of sculptors.
