FAQs

They will be available in the "program" section of our website: openhousemalaga.org as the festival approaches. In addition, we will publish the news that we are introducing also through social networks.

Yes, Open House Málaga is a non-profit initiative completely free of charge. However, those visits that require prior registration will have a cost per place as management fees.

Not in most of the buildings or routes, only in some of them. This information can be found in each card in the "program" section of the web page: www.openhousemalaga.org

Just take note of the route or building you are interested in visiting, the meeting point. Open House Malaga volunteers and guides will be waiting for you there to welcome you and explain how the visit will take place. Visits without registration will be organized on a first-come, first-served basis and until full capacity is reached. To get your place, we recommend you to arrive in advance.

We kindly ask you to cancel your registration, as this will give your place to another visitor. You can cancel your registration by sending an e-mail to hola@openhousemalaga.org. We remind you that the amount corresponding to management fees is non-refundable. Check here the Terms and Conditions of registration.

If after registering you need to change the details of the seat holder or any of his/her companions, you can do so through Eventbrite. The deadline to change the data ends when registration closes. It is important to note that some visits require prior registration for security reasons, and that registrations are closed in advance of the festival in order to prepare the corresponding lists of visitors. For this reason, no changes will be accepted after the closing of registrations and, consequently, the person who can attend the reserved visit will be the one who appears in the lists.

You can go to as many routes and buildings as you want as long as the schedules are compatible.

We recommend punctuality. We allow a courtesy time of 5 minutes before starting the explanation of buildings or routes, but once that time has passed, we cannot assure you that the volunteers or guides will let you participate in the visit.

Yes, in each building or route we detail the hours in which there is a specialist guide and the hours in which access is not guided. In any case, there will always be a volunteer to meet you at the entrance of the building or at the beginning of the route.

In general, it is allowed to take photos and videos with your cell phone inside the buildings and routes. Otherwise, the guide or volunteer with whom you make the visit will tell you. If you belong to a media organization, you must request permission beforehand. You can contact hola@openhousemalaga.org

In this case you must go to the complete route to be able to visit that building, in the file of each building it is detailed if it is part of a route.

A maximum of 5 places per registration may be requested, subject to availability.

Yes, children are allowed to visit the festival. In case you have chosen a visit that requires prior registration, you will also have to register the children accompanying you, except for children under 2 years old, who do not require registration.

In addition to visits to the buildings and guided tours, other activities are organized. Follow Open House Málaga's social networks and the website openhousemalaga.org, or subscribe to our newsletter so you don't miss anything.

All you have to do is fill out the form available in the 'volunteers' section of our website www.openhousemalaga.org and, if selected, our team will contact you. If you have any questions, please send them to voluntarios@openhousemalaga.org.

No, it is not necessary to have any previous training or experience, nor to come from a university, we only need availability and a lot of desire.

Once you have registered you will receive a confirmation to let you know that we have successfully received your application, but your participation is not confirmed until a member of our team contacts you.

This will depend on the role you are assigned. There are three types:

Support volunteer: You would help people to access the route or building to be visited, explain the dynamics of the festival and solve any doubts, as well as give support to the architect in charge of the guided tour in what he/she needs related to the visit of the building or assigned route.

Volunteer guide: With the help of the form, you would be in charge of explaining and directing the route or visit to the building from beginning to end, complying with the established schedule and providing valuable information.

Volunteer content creator: You would create the cards of the routes or buildings that will be explained by the volunteer guides or architects in charge of the guided tour, for subsequent explanation to the visitors.

Once your application as a volunteer has been processed and accepted, you will be added to a group where you will be able to solve all the doubts related to your participation in Open House Málaga, although you can also contact voluntarios@openhousemalaga.org.
