La Malagueta Bullring, promoted by the City Council of Malaga in collaboration with the Provincial Council, responds typologically to the series of mixed brick and cast iron bullrings that were built in the last third of the nineteenth century in Spain.

It was inaugurated in 1876, according to the project and construction management of the municipal architect Joaquín de Rucoba.

Its plan has a regular polygon structure with 18 sides, adopting the traditional circular shape inside.

It consists of a central ring around which, in concentric rings, the different rooms are distributed. The two floors of high bleachers and boxes area show towards the interior of the Plaza a front of columns, capitals, lowered arches and parapet with balusters, made of cast iron, being the first large building in Malaga was built with this material.
