The Red Cross headquarters in Malaga was designed in the space occupied by the former hospital of the organization in Ciudad Jardín.
The building and its surroundings were conceived from the void, thus avoiding the idea of a construction that would collapse the block, aligning itself to the roads and exhausting the available buildability of the plot.
The common spaces and lobbies, socialization and co-working rooms, as well as meeting and representation rooms, summarize in their design and distribution a clear intention of movement, of seeing and being seen. The areas are no longer understood as watertight and closed, but are related to each other as communicating vessels through the communication cores and shared meeting rooms. The main staircase is in itself a sculptural element that is implanted in the vertebral axis as an apparently auxiliary construction.
