"What happens when you use a diminutive to name the great: Roman Theater, Alcazaba and Picasso."

The slope of Mount Gibralfaro is the site of the Roman Theater and the Muslim Alcazaba of Malaga from the first and eleventh centuries, declared of Cultural Interest and Historical Heritage.
The Project recovers the monumental environment, rehabilitating the landscape and nature as a fundamental part of the urban heritage. The landscape rehabilitation of the Alcazaba hillside and the Roman Theater remakes the natural topography through the contribution of topsoil, and the reforestation of adult pines and native vegetation. Likewise, the routes with the best views are studied in order to understand the monuments in relation to the city. The new paths are made of Corten steel plates that allow, through their folding, the integration of lighting, rainwater and safety in the routes. The workshop-formed pieces are assembled without wet work in order to protect the valuable natural and monumental site.
Thus, through landscape rehabilitation and the creation of new paths and viewpoints, a sequence of valuable views is created that help to understand and enjoy this unique space, whose proximity to the sea and territorial predominance led to the origin of the city: A walk among trees next to the main heritage of Malaga.
